Thank you, I had read the first link but not the second.

As the stories have already been taken down, I cannot place the robots.txt file. Is there another way to delete these from the wayback machine? I see the other deletion requests here have resulted in the files being deleted.

well these requests are usually to remove items stored on archive.org which is a different story completely. there is an e-mail address at the end of the second document (wayback2@archive.org), you can try this e-mail and maybe post your request in specialized forum (http://www.archive.org/web/web.php)

Oh, okay - I'm sorry, I didn't realise it was a different thing, I just saw the deletion requests and hoped this was the right forum.

Have sent off email and will now go post on forum, thank you for your help.
